Preparation of Fur Skins to Sewing
The main feature of sewing any kinds of furs, by hand or on a sewing machine, is that the fur skin hairs must be guided in one direction. Only in this form will the joint seam not be visible, and the surface of fur coat having many fur pieces will look like a single whole.
To ensure that the skin's seam is invisible, it is necessary to observe not only the direction of the hair covering of the skin, but also to select the height and shade of the hairline of furs.
Now fold the pieces of fur skins together so that the skin of the skin is inside.
If the edge of the skin is uneven, mark the straight line.
Note: Cutting of furs is possible using a special knife only. Such knife is used for cutting and sewing with genuine leather.
Never cut a fur with scissors!
Take the fur in your hand, as shown in this photo and cut it along the line. It is important to cut the leather only, withot damaging the hairline.
How to Sew the Furs on Sewing Machine
Before sewing both parts of furs together on sewing machine you can fasten the edges with clips, as shown.
Now move the front feed disc towards you and insert between discs both edges of furs skin.
It is important that the height of the edges of skins is not higher than the level of the foot of the looper. If you do not comply with this condition, then during the sewing the edges of the skins will bend, the needle will move up and bend.
The height of the edges depends on the density of the leather of the fur, the class of the sewing machine (this model is used for sewing mink pelts, raccoon, etc.), and thread tension. In any cases, this skill is acquired only by experience.
Make a few stitch and cut the long end of thread.
Now you can continue to sew the furs together, the thread end will not be into the seam.

Thread should be released about 10-15cm.
Next, take away the needle from the edges of fur and open the front feed wheel toward you.
Now remove the fur skins from the sewing machine with carefully and cut the thread, as shown.
Take the tweezers and catch the thread end through the thread loop, as shown. Tighten it well. In this case the whole chain stitch not be to unravel.
