This is the first step of the hook rotation. In this position hook tip must fits to the needle the needle closely and must slide above the needle eye. Hook tip should slide higher by approximately 1.5 mm.
Only under such conditions the hook can grab up the upper thread from the needle and next move it to right.

This is extreme position of the hook at right. In this position the thread slips off the point a hook. The thread take up lever begins quickly to pull bottom thread up. In such way is formed stitch regular sewing machine having oscillating hook device.
