How to Sew Womens T-Shirts

In this tutorial are only some steps of tutorial on how to sew womens summer t-shirts. The version having full illustrated instructions (more than 50 photos) and printable sewing pattern (pdf) you can get for a fee (5$).
For facing a neckline, cuffs and pocket this women's t-shirt I use elastic ribbed knit fabric.
For sewing the back and front parts this t-shirt I use cotton jersey fabric.
The pattern t-shirt having two sizes 46-48 (pdf) I can send you e-mail after payment.
But I can give you free tip: To draft a pattern t-shirt, you can use your old t-shirt.
First you have to do patch pocket. This is very complex element of sewing t-shirt. For beginners I recommend to make a T-shirt without this front pocket.
If you decide to sew women's t-shirt with a pocket then these photos will help you do it correctly.
Pin or baste the pocket before stitching on sewing machine.
If you tried sew with knits you know how to difficult to sew this fabrics without stretching.
Now you can start to sew all parts of t-shirt together.
First you need pin or baste the edges of shoulders, as shown.
Now sew the shoulders lines of t-shirt together using an overlock seam only.
Note: Don't stitch these details together with straight stitches on regular sewing machine.
You need know that sewing any knits is possible using the overlock sewing machine only. Such modern four-thread overlock must have a differential feed of the fabric.
Using the zig zag stitches sewing machine is undesirable also.
On this photo are shown the facing binding strips for the neckline and arm holes sleeves.
Now you need pin or baste both strips along the edge of sleeves.
Now you need serge these edges.
Next you need to serge both sides of t-shirt, as shown.
Before attaching the facing strip around neckline you need to divide the neckline at four equal parts.
Second, divide the binding strip on four equal segments also.
Before stitching you need to attach the binding strip to the neckline combining these marks.
For fastening the tape around the neckline, you can use pins or small office clips.
Now you can sew around the neckline using overlocker only.
Press the binding strip with steam iron on the face side t-shirt.
At last step of sewing this women's t-shirt you need to hem it. See also: How to hem knit fabric with a serger
First, you need fold the bottom fabric, as shown.
If you do not have a special coverstitch machine you can make hem on regular sewing machine with straight stitches.
Sew hemline on the wrong side of t-shirt.
