How to Thread a Sewing Machine
This is universal tutorial for threading any sewing machines and winding a bobbin. More than 30 photos with pro comments help you learn how thread your sewing machine.
Start threading of your sewing machine with winding a bobbin. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin. Be sure to place your thread through all the thread guides on your machine.
For this tutorial, we used two coils of different colors. On the bobbin we will wind the white thread.
Note how proper insert the thread end into the bobbin before winding.
Although sewing machines can very differ the mechanism of winding a bobbin is the same.
To enable the work of this device is necessary to move the bobbin to the right, round plastic part of the bobbin winder until you hear a "click".
Pull the hand wheel to the right as shown in the photo. Note: In some models you need to move the hand wheel inside.
Slowly press down the foot pedal to do some turns a bobbin and cut off the excess thread.
Fill your bobbin with the amount of thread. After winding the bobbin thread on you need to disable this mechanism.
And connect the main shaft of the sewing machine.
Remove the bobbin from the bobbin pin and now you need inserted it into bobbin case.
First, you need to hold the thread into the slot.

Push gently the bobbin casing into the bobbin housing, until you hear the bobbin snap into place.

When you first started sewing you must know main feature of each sewing machine. It is the hook system. Sewing machines of the initial price have oscillating hook. More expensive models of sewing machines are equipped with rotary hook.
Oscillating shuttle machines mount their bobbin on the hook, and reciprocate the hook through a short arc (this photo).
Rotary hook machines hold their bobbin stationary, and continuously rotate the thread hook around it.

Now it's time for top thread. Set the thread on the spool pin. For the needle we will use different color thread.
Before you start thread sewing machine, turn the hand wheel and lift the sewing needle from needle plate.

Bring your needle thread down between the discs of thread tension assemble, following this photo.
Bring your thread through the channel, around the check spring holder step by step.
Insert the top thread through the take-up lever.
Then lower the thread down to the needle.
Slide the thread to all hooks before pull it into needle.
Note: During threading not miss these hooks.
Now it is time to insert the thread through the needle eye.
Turn the hand wheel and lower the needle down into slot of plate.
Continuing to rotate the hand wheel by hand and lift the needle.
Now you have finished filling thread in a sewing machine and it is time to sew.
Close the shuttle cover.
Attach a removable table.
Set the average value of the stitch length
and check the tension of the both threads on small pieces of fabric.
Here good shows that the upper thread tension is too large.
It is necessary to ease the tension of thread a little bit.
Now thread tension is normal
and the lower thread tension is correct too.
