In this post I show you a simple way how can to change the color of shoulder pads that are made from foam or other material.
Standard colors (black, white, gray, red, etc.) of shoulder pads are sometimes visible through the thin fabric a dress or blouse. In this case you need select a piece of thin fabric having similar color your dress.

The standard foam shoulder pads (or made of other materials) we will to cover with thin fabric.
Place foam shoulder pad in the corner of the fabric at an angle of 45 degrees.
Now begin to trace the contours of foam pad, as shown.

Turn it over and continue to draw the general outline of the fabric. Don't forget add the seam allowance 5/8" (15 mm).

Next, sew around the curved edge of shoulder pad that is covered with fabric. The needle must pierce fabric and the edge of foam pad also, as shown.
Note: Don't forget remove the pins during the sewing.

Trim off the excess fabric around the edge of updated pad.

At the last step you need serge the edge, as shown.
Now you can to fasten the shoulder pad to the shoulder line of your dress, blazer etc.
